Scheduled Neufeld Institute Classes

Join Our Live Faculty-led Online Classes

The Scheduled Online Class format is a popular option for learning with us. Course participants tell us they have benefitted from the examples and different perspectives offered, as well as the chance to spend more time on certain concepts and slides.

With weekly live sessions led by Neufeld Institute faculty, this format provides both structure and flexibility. Classes are recorded for reviewing later, and participants are invited to contribute to the discussion either ahead of or during class, with questions answered in class, in real-time. Past students have found the faculty-supported component of the course to be the most beneficial for deeper integration.

What Makes the Scheduled Online Class Format Unique:

  • Interactive Weekly Classes: Meet live with a faculty member to explore the material in-depth, ask questions, and benefit from group discussions in an engaging Zoom format.

  • Enhanced Engagement: Participate in an active forum where reflections, stories and questions arising from the week's session may be shared. Faculty respond to forum contributions in the live sessions.

  • Real-Time Guidance and Support: Gain insights and tailored examples from faculty, whose diverse backgrounds enrich the discussions and bring another perspective to the material.

  • Access to Class Recordings: We record our live sessions and they are available within 24 hours, allowing you to attend at your convenience and/or re-watch class discussions.

  • Additional Resources: Faculty often share supplementary materials specifically curated for the class, providing optional content for further study and integration.

This format is ideal for learners who thrive in a structured environment and value the opportunity to connect with faculty and fellow participants. Many students report discovering new insights each time they revisit the material. Whether you're coming for personal or professional development, we'd love to welcome you to class.

🗓️ January 30 – April 3, 2025: Making Sense of Adolescence I

Seven Rites of Passage
The task of turning children into adults has never been more daunting. An adolescent is neither child nor adult - and therein lies much of the difficulty, turbulence, confusion, and challenge. They need us, yet need to not need us. We are their best bet, yet their instincts are to resist us.

Crossing the bridge from childhood to adulthood has never been so daunting. The time of adolescence is longer than ever and yet society today offers little support in understanding or facilitating this transition. This course is designed to be used by parents, grandparents, teachers, administrators, professionals – anyone who desires to make sense of adolescence. Parents of pre- teens will find this course invaluable as preparation for what lies ahead.

🗓️ The course starts January 30, 2025
🕐 Thursdays for 10 weeks: 1:00 – 2:00 pm PT
🎓 Facilitated by Robin Brooks-Sherriff and Lisa Weiner

🗓️ April 10 - June 19, 2025: Making Sense of Adolescence II

Adolescence and Sexuality
Part II of the Adolescence course focuses on adolescence and sexuality. How is sexuality meant to develop? What is happening today that is different than in previous generations? How does sex affect the brain and bonding? In this course, Dr. Neufeld will be examining sexuality through the lenses of attachment, maturation and vulnerability. He will shed light on why adolescents are losing their timidity, why sexual interaction is on the rise, and why sexual bullying is becoming a problem. He will also explore the meaning of safe sex when viewed psychologically and provide suggestions for contributing to the healthy unfolding of sexuality in our youth.
